President’s Message

ASI President 2011-2012
ASI President 2011-2012
Welcome to California State University, Fresno! Associated Students, Inc. is the official student government elected by you, the students. ASI is here to serve and protect your rights and ensure that you have the best experience at Fresno State.
Today’s economic climate is troubling, especially for students. Our elected officials in Sacramento have put other priorities ahead of the California State University system, while education continues to be ignored by elected officials in Washington, D.C. We must work together to ensure that our voices are heard, and to secure funding for our system of higher education. I promise to always be an advocate for student’s rights and to represent the interest of students at the CSU and state levels.
The last year, 2010-2011, was a historic one as we celebrated Fresno State’s Centennial. Fresno State has produced thousands of teachers, health care providers, business visionaries and community leaders since its founding and continues to be a pillar of excellence helping to “Power the New California.” Our university is also one of the most diverse college campuses in the nation including students and professors from many different walks of life. Take pride in Fresno State and make the most of your time here. Coming off the Centennial Year, we want to keep that celebratory spirit alive, we should always be thankful for what a wonderful campus we have and celebrate its many successes.
ASI is a fully functioning entity of our university. Our goal is to ensure that students have the best possible college experience. Please feel free to utilize our various resources and services. Get involved on campus with clubs, academic groups, Greek life, and you should even consider running for an ASI position!
I look forward to a remarkable year and I will make myself available to all students should you have questions, concerns or just want to have a friendly conversation. Please stop by the ASI offices in the University Student Union (USU) Rooms 316 and 317.
Go ‘Dogs!
